The Sacred Valley was the heart of the Inca Empire, serving as its breadbasket, spiritual hub, and home to iconic symbols. The valley’s fertile plains, ancient terraces, and towering Andes peaks create a breathtaking landscape. First, we visit Pisac, known for its impressive fortress and vibrant indigenous market, offering everything from colorful hand-made rugs to fine llama and alpaca knitwear. After lunch, we explore the massive fortress of Ollantaytambo, site of a rare Conquistador defeat, before returning by train to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
